Illinois agriculture industry leaders last week took the first steps in developing a strategic state plan. The Vision for Illinois Agriculture drew representatives from many sectors of the agricultural industry, higher education, and government to Bloomington for the group’s fi rst meeting. “We’ve got a lot of ground to plow,” Illinois Farm Bureau President Philip Nelson told the assembled leaders. more... |

Urban and rural students meet, bond and quickly build complimentary relationships virtually every day in the state of Illinois. It’s remarkable. It is agricultural education and the FFA. It’s Lucille T. Shaw and Debra Korte, agricultural teachers in Chicago and Kansas, Illinois, respectively. Both grew up on family farms.
